Gerash

Gerash is a small city in Islamic Republic of Iran (within the province of Fars). It is part of Larestan, which is located in southwest of Iran. People of Gerash speak Gerashi, a language with 2 main branches: Nassagi (the dominant one) and Barqe-Roozi (commonly known as Belalizi). The population has been growing rapidly after the Iran-Iraq war as the baby-boom has increased the city's population 3 fold since the cessation of the war. Despite the high volatility in population due to seasonal migration, the population is estimated to be at around 35000 Gerashis.

  People

People of Gerash are Shia. Many of them have emigrated to the UAE and other Persian Gulf countries, such as Bahrain, Kuwait, and Qatar, working in microstructural variety stores, manual commodity movements, confidential-exports by motorboats, and other similar professions. Recently, migrating locations have changed to include United Kingdom, USA, and in some rare cases Canada. Foreign passport acquirement remains the primary reason for many of these migrations. Cost-effectiveness of eastern Europe make them favorite destinations for those students who have a passion for learning English
